RED DEER, Alta. - RCMP in Alberta are searching for a man who failed to show up for the last day of his trial in the death of a pedestrian.

Police believe Brent Robert Cameron, who is 26, may have returned to his home in New Brunswick.

Police in Red Deer, Alta., have issued a warrant for Cameron.

He is charged with failing to remain at the scene of a fatal collision after an accident that killed Paul Bertin in October 2012.

Cameron, who is also charged with mischief for reporting his vehicle stolen, initially had turned himself in.

Mounties believe he may have fled to Saint John.
