Bubble Ball Is A Game You Can Play In Vancouver

Next time you're looking for a fun game to play with your pals, why not consider getting inside a giant bubble and running around?

Yes, bubble ball is a real game, and no, it's not just for hamsters.

Basically, you play soccer while wearing a giant inflatable bubble; its squishy sphere is meant to encourage crashes and smashes, making for one silly time.

There are five companies in Metro Vancouver alone that offer the game: iBubble Soccer, Bubble Ball Vancouver, Bubble Soccer Vancouver, Bubble Soccer BC, and Bubble Sports Canada.

“Running the business has been really good. We’re getting a positive response and every month more and more people are hearing about us.” Cherelle Solomon, general manager of Bubble Ball Vancouver, told The Huffington Post B.C. “We’re getting really busy.”

Typically, the companies bring everything you need — all you need is the venue, and they provide the rest. It costs just under $20 per person to play, with exact rates depending on the company. The rental includes the bubbles, soccer balls, markers, scoreboard, sound system, and goal nets. Bubble ball can be played both inside and outside.

The game originated in Europe and has since sprouted up in the U.S., even being featured on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." And it seems it's harder than it looks.

"I hate that game so much!" Fallon jokingly exclaims after his team loses the match. "I don't care who won."
