Quebec's Régie de logement sets 2015 rent increases

The Quebec rental board has released the percentages by which landlords can raise rents in 2015.

The basic percentage increases allowed for this year are:

- Unheated dwellings: 0.6 per cent.

- Heated with electricity: 1.0 per cent.

- Heated with heating oil: 1.4 per cent.

- Heated with gas: 1.8 per cent.

Any increase will take effect at the time a new lease begins, which in Quebec is normally July 1.

There is more information and a rental increase calculator on the Régie du logement's website.
