Domino's 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Ad Was Never Run Because It Was 'Stupid'

Tongue Torture Is Not Something Anyone Wants To See

It's normal for a food franchise to cross-promote when a major movie comes out.

They're often official campaigns, like McDonald's "Jurassic Park" meal, or 7-Eleven locations turning into Kwik-E-Marts with the release of "The Simpsons Movie."

But an ad pitch to Domino's, apparently capitalizing on the release of "Fifty Shades of Grey," has fallen miserably flat with the pizza giant ... and everyone else.

The following ad, for the chain's Sriracha pizza, showed up online on Tuesday, People reported.

The ad shows a tongue tied up, S&M-style, with a tagline reading, "You're going to suffer and enjoy every moment. Domino's Sriracha. Super spicy, super tasty."

Domino's spokesman Tim McIntyre confirmed to E! that the ad was real, but said the company never "officially" displayed it anywhere because it was "stupid."

"The ad was created and pitched by an agency to the independent franchise in Israel," he said.

"When I first saw it myself, I thought it was a parody, just in time for the premiere of 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' ... I'm still shaking my head," he said.

We've heard of ads being rejected because they're too sexy, but threatening to make people suffer? That's a new one.
