EDMONTON - Alberta Premier Jim Prentice will speak to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in New York next week as part of his tour to promote cross-border relations.

Prentice will make the keynote address to the chamber Wednesday after meeting earlier in the week with U.S. legislators and officials in Washington.

He will also pay a visit to New Jersey governor Chris Christie in the week-long trip to the east coast.

Christie met with Prentice in Calgary last month to discuss, among other issues, their joint support for the proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

Prentice says he will also talk about Alberta's environmental record and its plans to combat low oil prices.

Agriculture Minister Verlyn Olson is also heading to Washington next week, to meet with members of Congress and food industry representatives.
