A commercial vehicle and a car travelling in opposite directions collided on a curved stretch of the highway Sunday morning near the village of Tappen, B.C. according to police.
Police said it was snowing in the area at the time, roads were slick and driving was treacherous.
There was no immediate word on other injuries. The incident caused lengthy traffic delays for most of the day.
Highway 1 was open 10 kilometres west of Salmon Arm to single-lane alternating traffic as of Sunday afternoon.
