Claudia Trindade was in a marked crosswalk on Jan. 28 around 5 p.m. when she was struck.
The machine was making a right turn at the time.
Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson offered condolences to Trindade's family on behalf of city council and all city employees.
Iveson called it a "tragic and unfortunate incident" and said thoughts and prayers were with the family.
On Friday, Trindade's family released a statement which said she had two children and the family was "devastated" and trying to understand why and how it happened.
