A police news release indicates that a Range Rover was stolen from a Richmond Hill driveway on Monday as it was left warming up.
Police say they found the vehicle and followed it to Toronto's Kipling Avenue and Greensboro Road area.
The vehicle was stopped and three men inside the vehicle were arrested.
Police allege that these individuals have been "linked to at least eight other warm-up thefts in York Region."
Search warrants have been executed and police report seizing nine stolen vehicles, worth a collective total of $280,000.
All three of the accused are from Mississauga. They each face charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments.
None of the charges have been proven in court.
The accused were due to appear in a Newmarket court on Wednesday.
