Surrey Crash Pins Passenger Under Truck

Two people ran from a crash in Surrey, B.C. that left a passenger pinned under a truck, say police.

RCMP said they received several reports on Wednesday afternoon about a vehicle going off the road near the 12500 block of 106-A Avenue. The truck rolled down an embankment and stopped next to some train tracks.

A 53-year-old man was trapped under the truck, said police in a news release. He was freed by emergency crews, and taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old driver and the other passenger who fled the scene were driven by a friend to the hospital. The driver, who suffered multiple injuries, is in stable condition.

Investigators will be questioning him to figure out what happened.
