Bouchard, of Westmount, Que., has picked Sam Sumyk to guide her throught the next phase of her carer.
The two were seen at Montreal’s National Tennis Centre, according to the Toronto Star.
Bouchard parted ways with long-time mentor Nick Saviano in November and was playing without a coach at the Australian Open, where she advanced to the quarter-finals before falling to Maria Sharapova.
Sumyk, 47, recently coached former world No. 1 player Victoria Azarenka, the two-time Australian Open champion.
Bouchard, ranked No. 7 in the world, chose to forgo playing for Canada at this week’s Fed Cup tie against the Czech Republic at Laval University.
Instead, she will compete at the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games in Antwerp, Belgium.
