The Most Memorable Grammys Red Carpet Looks Ever (PHOTOS)

The Most Memorable Grammys Looks Ever

The 2015 Grammy Awards are just around the corner, so you know what that means! It's time to take a trip down memory lane and look at the most memorable looks the music awards show has ever seen.

Considered as one of the more fun and adventurous red carpets of awards season, the Grammys see some of music's biggest stars get dressed up for a night of industry celebration. Music's biggest night will take place this Sunday, Feb. 8, so to get in the mood, we're going back in time.

From Pharrell's ridiculously oversized mountie hat to JLo's plunging Versace number, we think it's safe to say the red carpet has really never seen a dull moment. Just continue scrolling to see for yourself!

Pharrell's Vivienne Westwood hat will definitely go down in history as one of the Grammy's wackiest, strangest, and most memorable looks. And if anyone can pull it off, it's Pharrell.
Alicia Keys, 2002

We're not really sure what Alicia Keys was going for with this high-meets-low fashion look, but we do know that it probably made for great water cooler chatter the next morning. There's just so much happening here! We, and Alicia, will likely never forget this look.
M.I.A., 2009

M.I.A. was very pregnant at the 2009 Grammy Awards, and she made sure that everyone knew it. She wasn't afraid to show off the bump, and she did so in typical M.I.A. style.
Nicki Minaj, 2012

Never one to shy away from controversy, Nicki Minaj arrived wearing a custom Versace cloak that referenced the religious attire of the Pope. Because of course she did.
Adele, 2012

Adele's sparkly black gown may have been simple, but it's classic and gorgeous. It also proved to be a good luck charm for the singer, who won an amazing six awards that night.
Katy Perry, 2014

Katy Perry arrived at last year's awards show in this floaty Valentino gown, which featured a skirt covered in music notes. (Fitting, right?) The singer managed to make a statement without going overboard, making this dress one we'll never forget.
Prince, 1988

Prince is definitely not one to back down from wearing a bold outfit. Case in point: this polka dot number from 1988. Even his heels match the suit! Perfection.
Kelly Rowland, 2013

Beyonce may be the queen, but her former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland stole the show with this ultra sexy number. The strategically placed sheer panels are scandalous yet still manage to look classy on the singer. Love it.
Cher, 1974

How amazing does Cher look here though? The flowy white shirt over a bedazzled bandeau is really a look that only the iconic songstress can pull off. And she just does it so well.
Miley Cyrus, 2010

Remember when Herve Leger bandage dresses were all the rage? So does Miley! Back in 2010, the pop star arrived on the red carpet wearing one of her own, proving to the world that she wasn't a little girl anymore. (Side note: RIP hair extensions!)
Taylor Swift, 2013

When Taylor Swift arrived in this goddess-like gown, we were so pleasantly surprised. For once, it wasn't covered in sequins! The star looked sophisticated and just plain gorgeous. Her glittering gold column dress from 2014 was a close second.
Lady Gaga, 2010

When Gaga showed up wearing this stellar Armani Prive creation back in 2010, it was the talk of the night. Was it good? Bad? Weird? We're still not quite sure how we feel about it, but we do know that it's a look we'll always remember. Those crazy shoes and spiky orb just add to the wackiness. But, such is Gaga.
*NSYNC, 2001

Oh, *NSYNC, What would the Grammys have been without you? Just look at those glasses! And all the frosted tips! And the velvet overcoat! This group look is forever ingrained in our minds.
Christina Aguilera, 2001

And then there was Christina Aguilera (not yet Xtina). That hair! That dress! The cleavage! How could we forget this look?
Britney Spears, 2000

Leave it to Britney to bring a little southern glamour to to the red carpet. Just look at how fresh-faced she was here! Just, love.
Jennifer Lopez, 2000

We only have one thing to say about JLo's now-iconic Versace dress: #NEVERFORGET.
Rihanna, 2013

She may be known for her wild style and bad gal antics, but Riri looked every bit the glamazon in this gorgeous red Alaia gown which she sported back in 2013. Everything about the look is perfect -- from her loose waves to the matching red lipstick. It's by far one of her classiest looks, and it will forever be one of our favourites.
Beyonce, 2014

Our list just wouldn't be complete without queen Bey. Last year, she somehow managed to make illusion mesh look great (of course), even though we thought we were tiring of the trend. And of course, her bleached out bob caused a commotion all on its own.
Michael Jackson, 1984
Ron Galella via Getty Images
We have no doubt in our mind that the King Of Pop outshone everyone at the 1984 awards show. Just look at that jacket!
Kim Kardashian, 2011

Kim K looked smokin' hot in this gold number! It's one of her most glamourous looks to date, but we wonder if Kanye would approve...
