Big chill headed toward Toronto for Friday

Cold arctic air will follow midweek snowfall in the Toronto area, plunging temperatures to near -25 degrees Celsius with the wind chill.

CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland is expecting temperatures to fall to -15 degrees Celsius by late afternoon on Thursday, which may feel closer to -25 degrees Celsius with the wind chill.

Thursday night only gets worse, as temperatures are expected to fall to -22 degrees Celsius overnight into Friday morning.

The city will likely warm up for the weekend, just in time for Valentine's Day.
