Laura Tucker's Last Walk With Dog Brandy Captured By Stranger (PHOTOS)

LOOK: This Dog's Final Walk With Owner Was Captured By A Stranger

After her 15-year-old dog Brandy died unexpectedly from pancreatitis last Friday, Toronto resident Laura Tucker made a plea on social media, one that would help her heal from the incredible loss from which she was reeling.

Tucker posted a message on Facebook Saturday, looking for a man she had met at Toronto's Kew Beach just four days earlier, during what she now knew was her last walk with her beloved dog. The man had been taking photos, and Tucker hoped that he had taken one of Brandy.

"If you happened to take a picture of us walking or playing in the sunset, even if we are just a speck, please contact me. Rest in Peace, Brandy, my sweet spirit," she wrote.

When she woke up the next morning, Tucker found her post had over 500 shares and several comments. Among comments from well-wishers was Ryan Phillips, the man she had met. He posted two photos from that day, including one showing Tucker and Brandy walking together into the sunset.

Phillips told the Toronto Star he came upon Tucker's request after it was liked and shared by his mom, and "got a little buzz" when he realized he had the photos.

“Grief is difficult,” Phillips told the newspaper, “If you can share a little light and a little love, it can really mean a lot to people.”

That is exactly what the picture did. Tucker posted an update on Facebook thanking people for their help in finding Phillips.

"My grief is being lifted by the kindness of strangers. Thank you to everyone from Toronto and beyond who responded to this post."
