Hammer falls 9 metres onto worker at Union Station

A man was injured during an industrial accident at Union Station overnight. 

According to police, the man was hit in the back of the neck by a hammer that fell from a height of about nine metres, or 30 feet. 

The worker was in a lot of pain, police said, and was temporarily stuck at the bottom of an elevator shaft. 

Firefighters were called to help extract the man before he was taken to hospital. 

The extent of his injuries were not immediately clear.
