How To Make Dumplings Fun For The Whole Family

Put Your Friends And Family To Work Making Dumplings At Home
Charmaine Pang

Celebrate the Lunar New Year by hosting a dumpling party with your friends. It’s easy and inexpensive to throw. All you’ll need to get started is a few simple ingredients: flour, water, pork, ginger, and Chinese chives (or leeks).

Traditionally, dumpling-making is something that Chinese families do over the new year, as the shared effort of making the dumplings is said to dissolve any family tension, thus setting up the family for a harmonious year to come.

Teach your loved ones how to make the dumplings by dividing up the tasks. Make the dough and dumplings in a communal fashion, cook them up, then sit down to a shared meal and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
