SASKATOON - A man accused of threatening Saskatoon Mayor Don Atchison has been taken into custody.

Garrett Hillmer, 53, is alleged to have made the threats on the Saskatoon Transit Customer Service line on Sept. 20, the first day that transit workers were locked out by the city.

He was charged with uttering threats, but was a no-show in court and the judge issued an arrest warrant.

Police arrested him on Jan. 30; he is now scheduled to appear in provincial court Feb. 25.

Workers returned to work after the Saskatchewan Labour Relations Board ruled the city had no legal authority to impose the lockout.
