Woman burned after hot water pipe bursts in her apartment

A Toronto woman was rushed to hospital this morning after a burst water pipe in her apartment led to "serious burns" on her lower legs, paramedics said. 

Emergency crews responded to the call on St. Dennis Drive, in the Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue area, around 6 a.m., where they found the woman — believed to be in her fifties — with steam burns. 

It is believed that a hot water pipe in her apartment burst, seriously burning her lower legs. 

She was taken to hospital and is expected to recover, paramedics said.
