Ronald Sparling Arrested After Being Wanted By Police For 2 Years

GIBBONS, Alta. - RCMP in the Edmonton area have captured a man wanted by police for more than two years.

The Morinville detachment says Ronald Sparling, who is 38, was taken into custody at a gas station in Bon Accord on Tuesday.

Police say Sparling walked away from an Edmonton halfway house in January 2013.

He was wanted on a number of charges that included being unlawfully at large.

He is now facing an additional charge of resisting arrest.

Sparling is from Gibbons, Alta., and is to appear in Stony Plain provincial court on March 4.

He remains in custody.
