Nickelback Marathon To Run For 168 Hours For Podcast Host's Charity Drive

We are all this podcast host.

We are all Jesse Carey right now.

The host of The Relevant Podcast is enduring 168 straight hours (an entire WEEK) of Nickelback's music in an effort to raise $10,000 to help non-profit Charity: Water build a well.

Carey's Nickelback marathon lasts from Feb. 16 to 22, 2015, but it has already massively overshot its target. As of Friday morning, he had raised just over $25,000. In fact, the campaign hit half its goal by Feb. 9, before the marathon even began.

"It appears I've grossly misjudged people's enthusiasm to see what 168 consecutive hours of Nickelback will do to a human being," he said in an update at the time.

Surely health complications will arise from listening to mind-numbing songs such as "Photograph" and "How You Remind Me" over and over.

Carey has, we believe, looked into it. He said on his fundraising page that "several" doctors have told him that listening to so much Nickelback could lead to "irreversible damage to my ears, brain, kidneys and soul."

Jesse, you are braver than all of us.
