Caitlin Gladdish, of Kelowna, B.C., is facing drug trafficking charges after officers found more than 35 kilograms of cocaine in a car at a border crossing in Trail.

Gladdish, 26, was allegedly driving a car with a hidden compartment in the trunk holding the bricks of cocaine, RCMP said at a press conference on Monday.

"This is the largest cocaine seizure in the Kootenay area of our district ever," Supt. Brad Britton said.

Police said they believe the woman was working for a gang.

Gladdish is scheduled to appear in court on the charges in March.
