The Waterloo, Ont. man was part of a skiing and snowboarding group out on Feb. 17. He was reported missing that same afternoon when he failed to show up at the group's designated meeting spot.
Chauhan's body was found the following morning in the in-bounds area near Harmony Ridge.
Last week, the coroners service said the death was not suspicious. But the coroners service and RCMP are continuing to investigate.
"No avalanche, nothing suspicious...[It] would appear to be a tragic accident," said Barb McLintock, a spokesperson for the B.C. Coroners Service.
According to his obituary on canadianobituaries.com, Chauhan was a professional engineer who graduated from the University of Waterloo and was an avid tennis player, mountain climber and skier.
"He is remembered for his bright spirit, cheeky smile and quirky sense of humour," the obituary reads. "He was loved by so many he worked and played with."
