HALIFAX - Highlights of a report released Wednesday by Nova Scotia's auditor general on the province's finances:

— The amount of net debt per Nova Scotian stands at $15,659, the highest it has ever been.

— The deficit for 2013-14 of $679 million is more than double the $304 million deficit recorded the year before.

— The amount of money that Nova Scotia has not set aside but is obligated to pay to cover retirement and employment benefits is $1.8 billion.

— The province's net debt is $15 billion.
