"Star Trek" actor Leonard Nimoy, who passed away on Friday after losing his battle with end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, was buried at the Hillside Memorial Cemetery and Mortuary in Los Angeles on Sunday, surrounded by close family and friends.
Canadian "Star Trek" castmate William Shatner famously couldn't make the funeral (for which he has since apologized), and Nimoy's legions of fans around the world could only pay tribute online or commiserate with fellow Trekkers.
One fan took it upon themselves to take it a step further by creating a billboard honouring Nimoy:
Commenters under the tweet are saying the billboard is in Atlanta, Georgia, but some are even saying if it's fake, it's "still perfect." The billboard makes reference to Nimoy's "Star Trek" character Spock's trademark quote "Live long and prosper."
Astronaut Terry Virts gave a tremendous heartfelt salute to Nimoy from the International Space Station on Friday.
