NORTHERN ARM, N.L. - A boil-water advisory has been issued for residents of a small community on the west side of Newfoundland's Bay of Exploits.

Health officials in Northern Arm say E. coli bacteria has been found in the town's water supply.

While most strains of the bacteria are harmless, some can cause serious illness.

Residents are being asked to bring their water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice and preparing infant formula.
