SURREY, B.C. - Police are asking for the public's help to find a suspect who's been identified as a person of interest in the death of a man in the Vancouver area.

The region's homicide investigation team says 44-year-old Donald Salahub escaped from a halfway house in February and is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Investigators say Salahub may have been involved in the death of Michael Amy in Surrey, B.C., on Feb. 27 or he may be able to provide information about the crime.

Amy, who was from Abbotsford, was found dead in a vehicle and police said at the time that his death was not random.

Police say Salahub, who is from Manitoba, has connections across Western Canada.

He has previously had dealings with police in B.C.'s Interior region.
