OTTAWA - Yet another member of Prime Minister Stephen Harper's staff is about to join the Canadian Olympic Committee.

Carl Vallee — who is leaving the PMO after four years as Harper's press secretary — has been announced as the Canadian Olympic Committee's new executive director of communications.

Vallee — who starts his new job April 6 — is the latest member of Harper's team to leave the PMO for the committee.

Former communications director Dimitri Soudas left the PMO in 2011 to do the job Vallee is about to take.

Soudas left the committee in November 2013 to become executive director of the Conservative party — a job he held until last March, when he left amid allegations of his involvement in his partner Eve Adams' bid for the Conservative nomination in the riding of Oakville-North Burlington.

Vallee replaces another former PMO staffer — Marc-Andre Plouffe — in his new job.
