Admit it, you have a friend you probably don't even like. Friendships are all about giving and taking, sharing and caring, but when a friend is only draining you, it might be time for you to take a break. Sometimes even permanently.

In the video above, dating and relationship expert Andrea Syrtash reveals to Better TV the ways to identify negative relationships and determine if they can be fixed. Syrtash says that you should feel better, not worse after spending time with a friend.

Toxic relationships aren't just aren't just emotionally unhealthy — CBS news reports they're also detrimental to your long-term health. Syrtash says you aren't doing yourself or your friend any favours by staying in a toxic relationship .
