Crystal Andres Charged With Hit-And-Run Death Of Lee Thunder

ATHABASCA, Alta. - RCMP in northern Alberta have charged a driver following a hit and run that killed a 12-year-old boy.

Lee Thunder was walking on the side of a busy road in the town of Athabasca when he was struck by a minivan Tuesday night.

Mounties say the boy was propelled into a ditch and died a short time later in hospital.

A woman turned herself into police about two hours after the collision.

Crystal Andres, who is 36, faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

She is to make her first appearance in Athabasca court April 27.
