EDMONTON - Two people alleged to the La Familia street gang in Mexico have been re-arrested and are facing new drug-related charges.

Cody Sterling Tremblett and Penny Sue Fleming were taken into custody this week after investigators allege they were seen completing a drug deal in southeast Edmonton.

Tremblett is facing three new counts of breach of recognizance, a charge of possession of proceeds of crime and two charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Fleming is facing two new charges of breach of recognizance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Mike Tucker with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says Tremblett and Fleming had been out on bail after their initial arrests on Dec. 11.

At the time of that arrest, ALERT seized $600,000 worth of drugs, two assault rifles and $45,000 cash.

Meanwhile, another alleged member of the gang, Peter Alan Griffon, is wanted on 13 outstanding warrants for breach of recognizance, and is believed to be in Nova Scotia.
