P.K. Subban fined for 3rd embellishment citation

Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban was fined $3,000 US by the NHL for his third diving/embellishment citation of the season.

The incident occurred in a 5-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Mar. 12. The 25-year-old did not receive a penalty on the second-period play.

Diving/embellishment infractions fall under the NHL's rule 64, which is designed to bring attention to and more seriously penalize players [and teams] who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties.

Fines are assessed to players and head coaches on a graduated scale.
