Weekend events in Metro Vancouver, March 20-22

Whether you like contemporary dance, horror films or bargaining for antiques, there's plenty to do this weekend in Metro Vancouver.

1. TransMigration
March 17 to 21, various times
The Cultch, Vancouver

This dance, music and design performance is inspired by the life and paintings of iconic Ojibwe shaman-artist Norval Morrisseau.

2. Camané
March 20, 8 p.m. PT
Kay Meek Centre, West Vancouver

The "Prince of Fado" performs the soulful music of Portugal for one night only at the Kay Meek Centre. Camané was considered a child prodigy and has been performing for 20 years.

3. Northwest Horrorshow
March 20 to 22, various times
Vancouver International Film Centre, Vancouver

Can yesterday’s extreme cinema tickle today's jaded horror fan's palette? The Northwest Horrorshow festival is dedicated to bringing the best in classic cult and horror film titles from the 1970s and 80s to the greater Vancouver area.

4. Antique Expo

March 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 22 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Abbotsford Tradex

Antiques, antiques, and more antiques from various periods can be found at this annual trade show in Abbotsford, B.C.. Inventory includes furniture, accessories, and clothing.

5. Nowruz Festival
March 22, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Glen Park, Coquitlam

Celebrate the Persian New Year at this community event presented by the Tri-City Iranian Cultural Society. The official Persian New Year is March 21 and there are events happening throughout the weekend in and around Metro Vancouver.
