Highway 102 hit by multiple vehicle crashes

RCMP responded to two multiple vehicle pileups on a Nova Scotia highway.

Police and fire officials responded to a seven-vehicle collision on Highway 102 in Milford near exit 9.

Cpl. Andrew Joyce says injuries are minor in nature, but some vehicles have been extensively damaged.

RCMP are also responding to a 10-vehicle collision on Highway 102 in Upper Onslow at exit 15. Police say several vehicles are off the road there.

Both southbound lanes at the exit are closed, while the northbound lanes are moving very slowly.

This collision has had an impact on the start time for the Halifax Mooseheads' game against the Moncton Wildcats.

Joyce says that in both locations, whiteout conditions were a factor. He says winds are picking up across the province and recommends drivers stay off the roads, if possible.
