For decades, Vince Gasparro has been a familiar name and face on Bloor Street.

The butcher opened his first shop on the north side Bloor Street in 1960. It later moved to the other side of the street.

Today, the shop named for the founder at Bloor Street West and Ossington Avenue currently has a sign in the window advising of his passing.

Gasparro died on Friday, after a long battle with cancer. He was 77 years old.
