Freezing rain headed for southwest Ontario

Freezing rain is expected for the commute Wednesday morning in parts of southwestern and central Ontario and the GTA particularly — with most of it hitting north and northwest parts of the city.

A low pressure area from Colorado is forecast to track across the central Great Lakes.

Precipitation is expected to arrive in the form of freezing rain near dawn over extreme southwestern Ontario and spread
northeastwards through the morning.

No freezing rain is expected in the core of the city.

Forecasters say the freezing rain will likely persist for a few hours before changing to rain.

Ice accumulation is possible in some areas.
