'X-Files' Reboot To Be Shot In Vancouver

The sci-fi series will return to the West Coast city where it all started.

The truth is out there.

We Canadians will be able to see that truth up close and personal because "The X-Files" reboot is going to be shot in Vancouver.

David Duchovny, who plays the alien-and-conspiracy obsessed Fox Mulder on the series, confirmed to The New York Times that the sci-fi remake will return to the West Coast where the series began in the early '90s.

Vancouver actor William B. Davis, who brought the “Smoking Man” character to life, also told CTV News that the six-episode run will be shot in and around the city, starting in June.

Series creator and executive producer Chris Carter will be back for "The X-Files" reboot which will air on FOX in 2016.

Fans were already titillated when this Twitter interaction took place between Duchovny and his co-star Gillian Anderson, who plays the pragmatic Dana Scully:

"The X-Files" ran from 1993 to 2002. It was shot in Vancouver for the first five seasons then moved to Los Angeles in 1998.
