Man, 31, seriously hurt in suspected hit and run in Whitby

A suspected hit-and-run collision in Whitby, Ont., left a 31-year-old man with serious injuries overnight.

Durham Regional Police say they were called to investigate a collision involving a pedestrian that had occurred at Mary Street East and Pine Street, at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

The pedestrian was first taken a local hospital, and was later moved to a Toronto hospital.

Police say that the driver involved in the collision left the scene.

The vehicle involved in the collision is believed to be a white General Motors pickup truck or SUV. Police say the vehicle likely has front-end damage.
