A combined B.C. CFSEU [Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit] and Edmonton police investigation has uncovered a trail of violent crimes including murders, shootings and home invasions.

Sean Jennings, 27, has been charged with the July 2014 second-degree murder of Edmonton resident Alor Deng.

Deng, 27, was shot and killed after getting into a fight with a group of men he ran into on an Edmonton street on July 20.

Jennings is also charged with first-degree murder for an unrelated shooting in Richmond, B.C.

Police say evidence uncovered in both killings revealed a history of violence and involvement in unsolved shootings, break-ins and robberies across Alberta and on B.C.'s Lower Mainland.

So far, the various police agencies involved in the investigation have laid 50 charges against two people and police say more charges are expected over the next few weeks.

The second person charged has not yet been named.
