CALGARY - Police in Calgary say a 16-year-old boy is in hospital after twice being hit by a Hummer.

The teen was crossing a street early Monday when he was struck and knocked to the ground by the large vehicle.

The Hummer was then rear-ended by another vehicle and rolled on top of the boy.

He was taken to hospital, where he was in serious condition.

Police said charges are pending against the driver of the second vehicle. The driver of the Hummer is being investigated.

Speed and alcohol are not believed to have been factors.
