Alberta RCMP Officer Arrested After Allegedly Selling Classified Police Information

FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. - An RCMP constable in northeastern Alberta has been charged with bribery and breach of trust.

It's alleged the constable accepted money in exchange for information in a police database, then provided to an unauthorized source.

Police say the member has seven years service with the RCMP.

Kyle Gordon Harrison of Fort McMurray was arrested last Wednesday and has been released with conditions.

He has been suspended with pay.

Harrison is to appear in provincial court in Fort McMurray on May 20.
