REGINA - The opposition NDP is asking the Saskatchewan government to quash any plans to turn an area near White Butte into a private golf course.

Opposition critic Trent Wotherspoon says it makes no sense to turn the year-round recreation area into a private golf course and there are many upset with the proposed plan.

Parks Minister Mark Docherty told Wotherspoon no decision on the matter has been made.

The proposal would see 91 hectares of the park be turned into a golf course.
