Dana Vespoli swears that her porno movie "Fluid 3" isn't a parody of the Jian Ghomeshi scandal.

But she can't deny the influence the allegations against the ex-CBC Radio host have had on her film, she told Vice News.

The movie contains a scene in which character Xavier Conrad, a disgraced TV personality, grants an interview to a young journalist who just finished school.

One part of the scene shows Conrad whispering "you can't see this" to a plush monkey before he turns it around, which is an obvious nod to Ghomeshi's "Big Ears Teddy."

Other parts show the journalist blindfolded and naked, as Conrad uses rope and a belt to arouse her.

"It was definitely inspired by the case," Vespoli told Vice News.

The director said she was inspired to come up with the scene after actor Sovereign Syre, who plays the journalist, admitted to being excited by certain facets of the Ghomeshi scandal.

But the sex depicted in the film is consensual, and the characters use safe words, she said.

"There's a sexual fascination with it, not to take away what (allegedly) happened with these women," Vespoli told Vice.

"I know there's going to be people who are offended and I know there's going to be people who find it titillating and exciting."

Ghomeshi is facing seven counts of sex assault and one of overcoming resistance by choking, after a series of women came forward to say that the ex-host had attacked them.

His case saw its last court date on Friday, at which the judge set a new pretrial hearing date for April 28, The Toronto Star reported.
