Shawn Evans sets NLL scoring record, Roughnecks still fall to Rush 11-9

EDMONTON - Shawn Evans set a National Lacrosse League single-season scoring record, but it wasn't enough as the Edmonton Rush topped his Calgary Roughnecks 11-9 on Saturday night.

Evans had a goal and sevens assists for Calgary to set the record with 117 points.

Mark Matthews scored a hat trick for the Rush (10-5), with Robert Church, Zack Greer and Ben McIntosh adding a pair of goals each. Chris Corbeil and Matthew Dinsdale added the others.

Dane Dobbie scored five times while Curtis Dickson rounded out the attack with a hat trick for the Roughnecks (5-11).

Aaron Bold got the win in net, making 33 saves. Frankie Scigliano started for Calgary, but was lifted after turning aside 5-of-9 shots in 13:47. Mike Poulin suffered the loss after stopping 36 shots.

Edmonton went 3 for 10 with the man advantage while the Roughnecks converted three times on seven chances.
