Peel Regional Police have confirmed the identity of a woman whose body was found in a vehicle in Mississauga last week.

On Friday afternoon, police were called to an address on Robert Speck Parkway, where a woman's body was inside a black BMW.

The body had "obvious signs of trauma" when found, police say.

On Monday, police issued a news release identifying the deceased as 59-year-old Ming-Chien (Theresa) Hsin.

Homicide investigators are probing the circumstances surrounding her death.

Police had previously said that the BMW had belonged to Hsin, though they did not publicly identify her as the deceased until Monday.

In November, Hsin had survived a stabbing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, ext. 3205.

Information can also be passed on anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
