VERNON, B.C. - An 18-year-old man who died while rock-climbing east of Vernon, B.C., has been identified.

The BC Coroners Service says Taylor Archer of New Westminster, B.C., was climbing near the King Edward access logging area with some friends.

The service says they were on a cliff face Saturday when Archer fell about 12 metres to the ground below.

He died at the scene despite the efforts of his friends and emergency personnel.

The service is continuing to investigate.
