REGINA - A Saskatchewan MLA has apologized and withdrawn comments he made in the legislature about Premier Brad Wall.

Trent Wotherspoon brought the case of a Regina painter to the legislature on Monday.

The painter, Troy Jessop, said he was laid off from Deveraux Developments shortly after training three temporary foreign workers who had little to no experience painting.

Wotherspoon accused Premier Brad Wall of having a social relationship with higher-ups at Deveraux.

Wall, who was in Quebec City for a climate-change conference, tweeted to Wotherspoon that he made a serious false allegation towards him.

Deveraux CEO Denis Jones also said the allegation was false.
