10 Style Lessons We Learned From 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'

1: Kicking ass is always in style.

Sarah Michelle Gellar knows how to slay, especially when it comes to style.

The actress, who turns 38 on April 14, won us over back in 1997 when we first watched her accept her fate as a "slayer of the undead" on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer." She went from being the uber popular cheerleader to the "thing that monsters have nightmares about." In a word, she was awesome.

So today, in honour of the star's birthday, we're sharing some of the best style lessons we ever learned by watching her kick some serious vampire butt. Take note!

Don't be afraid to just be yourself, sword-wielding vampire slayer and all!

Sure, kicking vampire butt is totally amazing, but sometimes, a girl just wants to be a girl, OK? (#letmelive)

Seriously, who irons their jeans? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Do whatever you need to do to get there (but maybe don't try to take over someone else's body...).

Their sweetness could be deceiving, and essentially, work in your favour. Your enemies/haters won't even know what hit 'em!

Because you never know what might happen! And you know what they say, "Life's too short, buy the shoes!"

How could it not?

Clearly, Buffy learned the hard way. But she experienced chunky streaks so you don't have to!

And someone wearing one should not be taken lightly.

It will brighten up any outfit!
