2 men charged in connection to human trafficking investigation

Two men are facing a host of charges and one woman is wanted in connection to a human trafficking investigation, Toronto police said Wednesday.

Police allege the men forced a 17-year-old girl into the sex-trade industry and threatened her family when she tried to cut ties with them.

Over a three-month period, the teen was taken to hotels throughout the GTA and forced into sexual situations for money, according  to police.

It is believed there may be more victims.

Deshawn Holmes, 19, was arrested on April 1 and charged with six offences, including trafficking in persons under 18-years-old by exercising control and uttering threats. Holmes appeared in court on April 2.

Nathan Turnbull, 19, also faces a trafficking persons under 18-years-old by exercising control charge and three others, including uttering threats He was arrested on April 13 and appeared in court on the same day.

None of the charges have been proven in court. 

An arrest warrant has also been issued for 19-year-old Camille Beausejour, who is wanted in connection with the case.
