Eddie Lack, Canucks playoff rookie, tagged as starting goalie in Game 1 versus Calgary

1. HE EARNED IT

Losing starting goalie Ryan Miller in late February could have been fatal to the Canucks playoff aspirations. But instead Eddie Lack stepped in and put up a sparkling .927 save percentage and 12-6-1 record to propel Vancouver where they didn't go last season -- the playoffs.

2. HE LOVES TACOS

Lack is a huge proponent of the perplexing Swedish tradition known as "Taco Fridays". We think "Taco Fridays" is the Scandinavian version of "Meatless Mondays". Only with the meat. And maybe a little guacamole. Lack loves tacos so much he's been known to dress as one.

3. HE'S A GOOD SON

Lack has flown his father Willie in from Leksand Sweden so dad can watch son play in his first playoff game. Unlike Eddie's mom Mia, Willie does not appear to be active on twitter.

4. HE MIGHT JUST BE THE FIRST GOALIE TO DO A BETWEEN-THE-PERIODS TV INTERVIEW

Not saying this will happen soon but if any team ever lets any goalie talk to media in-game, Lack would be the perfect first candidate due to his happy-go-lucky demeanour.

5. HE MAKES SENSE

When asked about not having playoff experience, Lack had a Star Trek Kobayashi Maru-worthy reply -- something to the effect that the only way to get playoff experience is to play in the playoffs.
