Fifty RCMP officers are searching two Vancouver Island locations Tuesday in connection with the disappearance of Julia Strobach who vanished on Halloween in 2013.

Investigators are conducting "meticulous" ground searches at two Comox Valley green spaces as a "result of information gathered through the ongoing investigation into Julia’s disappearance," said an RCMP news release.

Strobach, who was 27 when she disappeared, has a three-year-old son.

She was last seen in the early evening of Oct. 31, 2013 in the 1000 block of Braidwood Road in Courtenay.
