PERTH-ANDOVER, N.B. - The New Brunswick government is warning of possible flooding with heavy rain in the forecast today.

River Watch says water levels are expected to rise over the next few days and ice jams could form on rivers in the province.

The government says ice is currently moving on river systems including the St. John River.

The community of Perth-Andover declared a state of emergency on the weekend over flooding concerns from the St. John River and a mandatory evacuation was ordered for about 300 people.

The evacuation order was removed Monday.

Environment Canada says more than 25 millimetres of rain is expected by Wednesday morning across the province.
